Sustainable Health Unit, University of Oslo, Centre for Pandemics and One Health Research, Women in Global Health Norway, Women in Life Science Norway and Circle U Oslo invite to an event about women in science.

Gender equality is both an aim and a means to contribute to healthy lives for all, both of which are key to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In science, globally, women account for only about 30 per cent of researchers, according to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and evidence shows that their participation is even lower at leadership and decision-making levels. Why is that, and what is being done to better support women’s careers in science?

The event is tailored to appeal to the seasoned professional, the budding scientist, or simply those who are passionate about supporting women in science. With an intention to build networks and inspire the next generation of women scientists, this event will bring together leading female scientists from diverse fields to share their inspiring journeys, groundbreaking research, and the challenges they have overcome. It is our aim that the day will galvanize new collaborations and mobilize novel resources for courses, seminars, and other engagements.
