Women In Research Ireland invites to an online event to speak about the difficulties of being a mother in academia and how improvements can be made.
It is well-documented that academia is a highly competitive career choice with the constant pressure of publishing or perishing, service to the academic community, teaching and student engagement, and grant writing. To add the task of raising children into this mix makes many academic mothers feel that they have done injustice to either academia or motherhood.
